Total Solar Eclipse

In July 2009 the moon will pass directly in front of the sun, casting a shadow that will race across the earth at nearly 1000 miles per hour. Come to the planetarium in June to learn where on earth you will have to go to be inside the moon's shadow, and to learn much about the history of Solar Eclipses.

Shown June 9, 16, & 23

No program June 2, but about 10 telescopes wil be set up along the boardwalk at 24th street at the Virginia Beach oceanfront from sunset to 11pm if weather permits Wednesday, June 3rd. Come celebrate the International Year of Astronomy by looking through a telescope like Galileo did 400 years ago.
